Born in Baltimore, Maryland in the US, Tom Clancy took the literary world by the storm with his first book, The Hunt for Red October, published in 1984. Throughout his career which spanned for close to three decades, the American author released more than 17 bestseller books and also sold over 100 million copies worldwide. His stints in writing military science and spy fiction thrillers made Tom Clancy books a must-read during the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s. The American novelist Tom Clancy carved a niche for himself as a published author and novelist.
